Fast growing alt-pop band Little Planets are releasing their long-awaited second single 'Circles'. The Yorkshire based outfit offers up disco-inspired pop belters with a uniquely honest female perspective. Undeniably relatable, 'Circles' tackles the repetitive confusions and dramatics of a 'situationship', using witty and conversational style lyrics, aimed squarely at those who have wronged them in the past. This paired with guitar-heavy and bass driven instrumentation, Little Planets have created the perfect angsty pop tune.
Singer Tia stated, "we wanted to write a tune you could belt out in the car when you're just sick of drama and I think we've done that. 'Circles' is actually based on true events so hopefully it will provide some humour and people will be able to relate to these 'situationship' shenanigans- if you know, you know. "
After meeting at university three years ago, the members became best friends and moved in together- later realising their musical potential as a group and creating Little Planets. As a band fronted by two women, Little Planets showcase a unique six-piece lineup, with songs that tackle modern-day subjects like sexism, social media pressure, and university life. By creating alt-pop music that fuses pop with disco and indie, they have worked to craft a sound that ultimately, people will relate to and dance to. With a loyal following of over 5k across social media platforms, the housemates share not only their music, but their life together in the heart of a big city.
Since forming in 2021, they have been gaining attention performing live across the country, most recently supporting SPINN on their UK tour. Set to play the likes of the Liverpool Sound City festival this summer, the band looks to follow their successes with a stream of new music to be released this year. 'Circles' is the first of a trilogy of singles, each calling out a sour relationship of some kind and backed by groovy energetic pop that is destined to get your feet moving.
